Khaleel, Abhishek & Bairstow took SRH to an Easy Nine Wickets Win!
Khaleel Ahmed & Abhishek Sharma’s stunning performance with the ball along with Bairstow’s gutsy half-century guided SRH to an easy nine wickets victory over PBKS in their IPL clash at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday.
A restricted bowling attack from Khaleel Ahmed & Abhishek had helped SRH restricts Punjab Kings to a meagre 120 runs in 19.4 overs. In response, SRH chased down the target with eight balls in spare thanks to a swashbuckling batting performance by Bairstow that left PBKS struggling for runs in the death overs.
David Warner & Bairstow started their chase on a good note, taking SRH to fifty runs in six overs. In the next four overs, Warner slowed down a little but Bairstow continued his slaughter with the bat & hit timely boundaries. While Warner tried to speed up his knock, Fabian Allen removed David Warner in the 11th over to give PBKS a ray of hope. But Bairstow & Kane Williamson didn’t allow PBKS to capitalize as the duo stitched a quick-fire 48 runs partnership to guide SRH over the target comfortably in the 19th over.
Punjab Kings got off to a bad start by dismissing KL Rahul in the 4th Over!
Earlier opted to bat first, PBKS got off to a bad start as they lost their Captain KL Rahul right in the fourth over of the match. Chris Gayle & Mayank Agarwal then stitched a partnership but Khaleel Ahmed removed Mayank in the seventh over. It resulted in a middle-order collapse as PBKS lost two more wickets in the next 10 balls.
Shahrukh Khan guided PBKS to a meagre 120 runs total!
Deepak Hooda & Moises Henriques tried to bring PBKS back on the track but failed miserably as Abhishek sent both the players back to the pavilion reducing Punjab to 82 runs with the loss of six wickets. Shahrukh Khan managed to guide Punjab Kings past 100 runs mark but the batsman wasn’t able to convert 100 runs total into a big one.
Khaleel Ahmed removed Shahrukh khan on the first ball off the 18th over to deny the Punjab Kings any chance of finishing their innings on a high total. In the final two overs, Punjab Kings scored 10 runs to give SRH 121 runs target.
