Washington Sundar was one the star performer of India’s glorious victory over England in the fourth & final test which helped the hosts to win the four match test series by 3-1.

Sundar who made a name for himself with the heroics of bat in Australia once again excelled with bat by scoring a brilliant 96 runs not out to help India take a lead in the first innings in Ahmedabad. However the young left handed batsman was left stranded four runs short of a well- deserved century after India lost their last three wickets one after other on the same score.

At that time, former India Cricketer Wasim Jaffer had put a meme from a scene from the movie ‘3 Idiots’ making fun of the trio i.e. Axar Patel, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Siraj — the three players that were dismissed before Sundar could reach his maiden hundred. Washington Sundar responded to Wasim Jaffer’s tweet on Monday.

Sundar replied by tweeting, “Thanks a lot bhaiya! Dad will definitely treat them with a lot of biryani and Halwa!”

It all started when Sundar in his Maiden Test Innings in brisbane against Australia scored a swashbuckling 62 runs to remove India from the losing scenario. India went further to win the Gabba Test match & clinch the series in Australia. However Sundar’s father has expressed disappointment for his son missing his maiden century.

Sundar’s unbeaten 96 runs knock was crucial in India’s win by an innings & 25 runs to reserve their spot in the WTC final against New Zealand in June. India were in trouble after England reduced them to 146 runs for six wickets down in the first innings. But a stunning century by Rishabh pant & Sundar’s 96 helped them to register a 113 runs partnership & put India’s in the winning state.

India were bowled out for 365 runs with Sundar stranded on 96 runs as India took a 160 runs lead. Ashwin & Axar Patel together spun a spin web around the English batsmen in the second innings as both the batsmen took five wicket hauls as England were wrapped up for 135 runs.
