Suresh Raina on Friday called on Jammu & Kashmir Police Chief Dilbag Singh & discussed plans for encouraging the youth of the Union territory in honing sports skills a police spokesperson said. “Famous (ex-) International cricketer Suresh Raina called on the Director General of Police (DGP), J-K, Dilbag Singh at Police Headquarters (PHQ) here today, and had a discussion about a series of plans of J-K Police for encouraging local youth in honing their sports skills,” the spokesman said.
He said the DGP has also thanked Raina for visiting the PHO & appreciated the commitment of the star player for volunteering his services in youth engagement programmes in Jammu & Kashmir. The DGP said that the presence of star cricketer in Jammu & Kashmir will help in connecting with the people particularly the youth thus utilizing their energy in positive directions.
Raina said that he wants to promote sports amongst youth of Jammu & Kashmir. He further said that he will like to guide talented youngsters from various parts including schools, colleges and rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
Raina had said in a letter to the DGP written for the promotion of cricket in Jammu and Kashmir by identifying talented youngster’s particularly underprivileged kids in the union territory.
