Amidst the increasing spread of COVID-19 in India, everyone is trying to do their bit to help the needy people in the country. Suresh Raina has donated a huge amount of 52 lakhs to Coronavirus Relief Funds.
Raina with his CSK teammates MS Dhoni, Ambati Rayudu, Piyush Chawla has been training in Chennai in the first week of March before the training camp was called off due to COVID-19 Pandemic. On Saturday team India’s batsman took to his twitter handle to announce that he has donated a whopping amount to Coronavirus Relief Funds in order to fight against Novel Coronavirus Pandemic. He tweeted, “It’s time to do our bit to help the government to defeat COVID-19. I am donating 52 Lakhs for the fight against Corona of which 31 lakhs to the Prime Minister CARES Fund and 21 Lakhs to the UP CM’s Disaster Relief Fund. Please do your bit too. Jai Hind and #StayHome”.
Suresh Raina also took part in the latest campaign #IStayHome on Wednesday. He took to his twitter handle and posted a picture in which he was holding a poster that read, “I love my family. Do you? I am staying home to protect them. Are you?” With this social message, he appealed millions of people to observe a strict lockdown as per the directives of the Government to combat the spread of Coronavirus.
This year’s Indian Premier League has been postponed till 15th April like other major sporting events in the world been called off including Tokyo Olympics which has been postponed until next year.
