Suryakumar Yadav is a name which has been a highlight of IPL 2020. His spectacular performances for MI received high praise from many former cricketers. He is in news not only for his performances but also for many other reasons.
One reason is his unpredicted omission from the Indian squads for the tour of Australia & the other one is the famous stare off with Kohli during an IPL 2020 match between RCB & MI. The Mumbai Indians star batsman finally broke his silence on the incident & revealed the conversation that took place between him & kohli after the match.
During the match, Suryakumar Yadav kept his calm even when Kohli stared him during the match. Kohli was seen walking upto Suryakumar while shinning the ball & staring at him. The MI batsman stood on the ground before proceeding to walk away without uttering a single word to the captain. The video of the incident went viral on social media with many praising Suryakumar Yadav’s reaction to the entire stare off incident with the RCB Captain.
Suryakumar said that after the match Kohli was back to normal & even congratulated him on his spectacular show with the bat. “I have seen him this energetic in every game. It wasn’t as if he was like this in the game against MI. Even when he plays for India or even in franchise cricket and against any team, he is aggressive and energy is always spot on. It was an important match for them (RCB) as well. After the match, he was back to normal. He told me well played,” Surkyamar Yadav told Sports Tak in a video posted on YouTube.
“It wasn’t anything. It was just in the heat of that moment. I was also a bit surprised that it was highlighted so much,” he said of the incident. Even after the incident Suryakumar didn’t lose his cool & played a knock of 79 runs off 43 balls in MI’s chase against RCB.
Despite of such brilliant performance in the IPL 2020 Suryakumar was not selected in any of the squads for the Australia tour. Suryakumar spoke of his disappointment but said that the “show must go on”.
