One of the star performer of the Gabba Test match T Natarajan has said that he was “elated & ecstatic” with the grand welcome he received in his hometown of Chinnappampatti, Tamil Nadu.
T Natarajan just like many other cricketers had received a hero like welcome when he reached at his hometown after the conclusion of the memorable Australia tour. India registered an incredible win in the final test at the Gabba in Brisbane last month to clinch the four match test series in Australia. On Tuesday the left arm fast bowler who made his test debut in the final test match took to twitter to thank his fans for the love & support by sharing the pictures from his hometown.
Injury hit India had to build up a new bowling attack in Brisbane with young inexperienced bowlers in the bowling side. He made an instant impact right on his debut by taking three wickets in the first innings of final test at the Gabba. Though he went wicket less in the second innings as Mohammed Siraj & Shardul Thakur took center position but the young pacer still received widespread praise for his spectacular performance.
With his first debut in Brisbane, T Natarajan had also became the first Indian player to make his International debut across all the three formats on the same tour. T Natarajan made his first international appearance in the finals ODI in Canberra, which India won after losing the first two ODI matches of the series.
T Natarajan scalped two wickets but conceded 70 runs in 10 overs. T Natarajan was a part of all the three T20Is that followed the ODI series. He made a huge impact on his T20I debut in Canberra scalping three wickets by giving away just 30 runs. In the final T20I at the SCG he conceded 33 runs off four overs by scalping just one wicket as Australia won by 12 runs to deny India the clean sweep in the T20I series.
