The Indian Cricket team is gearing up for the fourth & final test of the ongoing Test series against England in Ahmedabad. Though India is leading in the series with 2-1 but it’s important for India to perform well & win the fourth test match if they want to book their spot in the finals of the Inaugural Edition of the World Test Championship in June.
BCCI took to social media to share pictures of team India’s fielding drills ahead of the fourth test match. In the pictures, batsman Mayank Agarwal, pacer Umesh Yadav & spinner Kuldeep Yadav can be seen practicing catches while all-rounder Washington Sundar is seen throwing ball at the stumps. Sundar & Kuldeep both got a chance to play for the team in the series so far but Mayank & Umesh Yadav have not found a way into the team yet.
Umesh Yadav was ruled out of the first two Tests as he was recovering from an injury he suffered during India’s tour of Australia but was added to the squad for the final matches after he cleared his fitness test. Umesh Yadav may get included in the final test after pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah pulled out due to “personal reasons”.
India need to win or draw the fourth test match at the Narendra Modi Stadium to qualify for the WTC final against New Zealand. If England who are knocked out of contention after defeat in the third test win the match then their arch rivals Australia will go directly to the final of WTC at Lord’s.
