India are preparing up for the third test against England at the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad which starts on Wednesday.

On Monday, the BCCI took to social media to share pictures from team India’s training session under the lights ahead of their crucial Day & Night test match. “#TeamIndia practice under lights as they gear up for the pink-ball Test at the Cricket Stadium at Motera,” the BCCI captioned the post. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma & wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant can be seen batting in the nets in the pictures while pacer Mohammed Siraj is also spotted bowling. This match is the second Day & Night Test which is held in India & only the third time that India will play day & night test match.

India’s first day & night test was held at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata against Bangladesh in the year 2019 where Virat Kohli scored a brilliant century & Ishant Sharma scalped five wickets as India registered a glorious win over Bangladesh. India also played the Pink Ball Test against Australia in Adelaide in which they suffered a humiliating defeat by registering the lowest Test scores of 36 all out. However they pounced back by registering a historic win which helped India to clinch the four match test series & retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

India & England will come into the third test match with the series levelled at 1-1. England took the lead in the series by winning the first match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, before India won the second game which was also held at the same venue. The Day & Night Test at the Motera stadium will be the first International match to be played in the stadium after it is renovated to establish it as the largest cricket stadium in the world.
