The outbreak of COVID-19 into the bio-bubbles forced the BCCI to postpone the IPL 2021!

Earlier on Tuesday SRH wicket-keeper, Wriddhiman Saha tested positive for COVID-19. While on Monday, two of the CSK staff members tested positive for COVID-19. Two players of the KKR squad were also tested positive for COVID-19 which forced the BCCI to postpone the KKR-RCB match on Monday.

While Saha testing positive meant that the match on Tuesday evening between SRH & Mumbai Indians also needed to be postponed. This made the situation worse as the match between RCB & KKR had already been postponed & the match between CSK & RR was also on the verge of postponement with the CSK squad being under strict quarantine. The BCCI didn’t want to take further risks after the outbreak of COVID-19 in the bio-bubbles & thus the board had decided to call off the IPL 2021 till further notice.
