The BCCI officials landed in Dubai

The BCCI Officials have landed in Dubai to finalize arrangements for the IPL 2021 with the UAE government. The BCCI secretary Jay Shah, Treasurer Arun Singh Dhumal & Vice-president Rajeev Shukla & joint secretary Jayesh George have landed in Dubai on 31st Monday.

According to the reports in Cricbuzz, the Emirates Cricket Board has rushed to the UAE government to obtain special permission for the arrival of the BCCI Officials in the UAE due to travel restrictions to & from India. The Office bearers have departed for UAE in a Charter plane.

It is clear that the purpose of the BCCI Officials’ visit to UAE is to figure out the logical & operational issues in the commencement of the IPL 2021 which is to be held from September 19 to October 10. There can be discussions held over the concessional price for the hotels which will be increased due to the impending Dubai Expo.

The Emirates Cricket Board Officials feels that organizing 31 games will not be a difficult task as they already had the experience of hosting the IPL 2020 last year. They also have enough tight approximately 100 days to organize the event. The major problem for the BCCI would be to organize T20 World Cup & probably they will discuss the same in the ICC Meeting which would be held on 2nd June.

ICC Board Meeting to be held on Tuesday:

The ICC Board which will have a virtual meet on Tuesday will decide on the Future Tours Programme for the year 2023-2031. The number of mega-events either six or eight will be finalized during this meet. And the three big board’s ECB, CA & the BCCI are likely to give up their opposition to the ICC proposal of a tournament every year. The ICC Boards may approve the 14 teams who will play in the ODI World Cup which has got a green signal at the Chief Executive Committee.
