The Pakistan Super League franchises have asked the PCB to host the remaining matches of the PSL in the UAE instead of Karachi amid the fresh rise in the COVID-19 cases in Pakistan.
PSL’s sixth edition was postponed after a fresh rise in the COVID-19 cases were reported in the month of March. The tournament is scheduled to resume on June 1 with the finals slated to be played on June 20. According to a report from ESPN, all the six PSL franchises have sent a letter to PCB. Requesting the board to host the remaining PSL matches in the UAE instead of Karachi. And the board is reviewing the current situation in Pakistan. The PSL franchisees are slated to assemble in Karachi by May 23 to start their mandatory seven days quarantine period.
Last month the Board of Governors of the Pakistan Cricket Board met through a virtual conference call. And the PCB received a presentation & an update on the report of the two-person fact finding panel formed by the PCB. The panel was formed by the PCB Chairman to review the bio-security protocols, by-laws, preparations for the PSL. After the date of resumption of PSL six was fixed, the franchises formed a replacement draft to fill in the slots as many overseas players had pulled out of the tournament.
Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib-Al-Hasan, New Zealand opener Martin Guptill & Andre Russell are going to participate in the remaining matches of the PSL 6 for Lahore Qalandars, Karachi kings & Quetta Gladiators as their names were suggested as replacements in an online session held with the franchise representatives.

Islamabad United: Usman Khwaja replaces Alex Hales, Janneman Malan replaces Lewis Gregory.
Karachi Kings: Martin Guptill replaces Collin Ingram, Thisara perera replaces Mohammed Nabi, Najeebullah Zadran replaces Dan Christian, Litton Das replaces Joe Clarke.
Lahore Qalandars: Shaikh-al-Hasan replaces Rashid Khan, James Faulkner replaces David Wiese, Joe Burns replaces Samit Patel, Callum Fergusson replaces Tom Abell, Seekuga Prasana replaces Joe Denly.
Multan Sultans: Mahmudullah Riyad replaces Chris Lynn, Rahmanullah Gurbaz replaces James Vince, George Linde replaces Adam Lyth, Obed McCoy replaces Carlos Brathwaite.
Peshawar Zalmi: Fabian Allen replaces Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, Rovman Powell replaces Liam livingstone, fidel Edwards replaces Saqib Mahmood.
Quetta Gladiators: Andre Russell replaces Tom Banon.
