RCB Captain Virat Kohli on Thursday became the first player to register 6000 runs in the IPL. He reached the milestone yesterday in RCB vs RR clash at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Virat Kohli also registered his first half-century of this IPL season in yesterday’s clash by smashing six fours & three sixes to enroute 47 ball 72 runs. Virat Kohli needed just 51 runs to reach the milestone of 6000 IPL runs. He currently has 6021 runs scored in the IPL & is currently the highest run-scorer in IPL’s run charts.
Suresh Raina who is next in the queue of achieving this remarkable milestone was the first cricketer to congratulate Virat Kohli on his feat.
“This is HUGE, meet the first-ever player to reach 6000 runs in IPL,” Suresh Raina tweeted, Virat tagging Kohli. “It was a delight to watch, more power to you,” he added. Suresh Raina was the first in the race of becoming the highest run-scorer in the IPL. But as he opted out of the last IPL season, Virat Kohli overtook him.
Virat Kohli & Suresh Raina are all set to meet each other in a face-off. As RCB will face CSK in their next IPL match on Sunday at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. It will surely be a thriller match as two top teams of the IPL Points table 2021 will come into a face-off. RCB is leading the Points Table by winning four out of four clashes whereas CSK is second on the Points Table by winning three out of four matches played so far.
