Kohli becomes the first Indian Batsman to reach 9000 runs in T20 cricket. He achieved this remarkable milestone in RCB’s match against Delhi Capitals which was played on Monday in Dubai in the 19th Match of the IPL 2020.
Kohli is placed on seventh spot in all-time scores in T20s with Chris Gayle leading the list with a whopping 13,296 T20 runs scored from 404 matches followed by Kieron Pollard, Shoaib Malik, Brendon McCullum, David Warner & Kohli’s RCB teammate Aaron Finch who are ahead of Virat Kohli. Kohli regained his form as he scored his first IPL 2020 half century & an unbeaten 72 runs against Rajasthan Royals in RCB’s last match played on Saturday.
In T20Is, Kohli is India Men’s highest run scorer with 2794 runs registered on his name closely followed by Rohit Sharma who has scored 2773 runs. In the IPL series, Kohli leads the batting charts with 5524 runs followed by Raina & Rohit Sharma who scored 5000 IPL runs earlier this IPL season & has 5074 runs in his kitty. Kohli’s RCB have started this season very well by winning three from four matches in the tournament.
RCB are currently placed on third spot with six points scored from four matches & will stay on top of the points table if they beat Delhi on Monday. Delhi capitals also have six points scored from four matches are enjoying top spot in the points table.
