The Indian team Captain criticizes his team’s body language after 25-26 overs as the bowling attack of team India lack efficiency. Team India’s Fielders dropped some crucial catches on field as Aaron Finch and Steve Smith smashed the visitors in today’s ODI.
Aaron Finch & Steve Smith scored centuries as Australia posted an impressive total of 374 runs for six wickets from 50 overs. In reply to Aussie’s imposing target, India fell short by 66 runs despite of half centuries from Dhawan & Pandya. Kohli said that if you don’t take your chances against a top quality team like Australia it will definitely cost you high.
“The body language after 25-26 overs was disappointing. A quality side will hurt you (if you have fielding lapses),” Kohli said at the post match presentation. The Indian team Captain also highlighted that Hardik is unfit to bowl a few overs in the middle and so the team lacks an additional bowling option.
“Unfortunately, Hardik is not fit enough to bowl, and we don’t have other all-round options to pick from either, someone like Stoinis or Maxwell,” Kohli said.
Kohli was happy with the positive approach of the entire squad in the chase of a huge target of 375 runs & said that they continue such positive approach in the upcoming games.
“As a batting unit we committed nicely to positive cricket and we are going to do that in the future as well,” Kohli added.
With an empathetic win team Australia took a lead against India with 1-0 in the three match series. The second ODI will be played at the same venue on Sunday.
