Indian team Captain Virat Kohli has equaled the record for scoring most half centuries in the T20I format of the game. Kohli achieved this milestone when he reached his 25th half-century in the 3rd T20I against Australia in the SCG ground on Tuesday.
Now Virat & Rohit Sharma both has equal tally of scoring most half-centuries in the T20I format of cricket as both the teams have 25 half-centuries registered under their name. Kohli reached this milestone in his 79th innings whereas Rohit required 100 innings to reach his 25th half century in the T20I format of cricket. Australia’s Opening batsman David Warner is third on the list with 19 half centuries while Ireland’s Paul Stirling is at fourth spot.
Kohli’s half century got waste as Australia secured a 12 run victory over India in the 3rd T20I. While India had already won the three match T20I series after winning the first two games of the series. India will now face Australia in the four match Test series which will start on December 17 in Adelaide. The first match will be a day & night event & Kohli will depart for India after the first test as he has been granted paternity leave by the BCCI. Rohit’s availability for the Test series is still not clear as his fitness will be reassessed on December 11 at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru.
Meanwhile In a three day practice game India A & Australia A has squared off & the game ended in a draw. For Australia A Cameron green scored a century in the first innings while Ajinkya Rahane also scored a century for India in the first innings.
The Indian team & Australia A will now face each other in another practice game which will start from Friday. However this match will be played under lights and it will be a pink-ball contest.
