Virat Kohli found his spectacular form back as he scored an unbeaten 73 runs to help India to seal a series levelling victory over England in the second T20I of the five match T20I series on Sunday.
After the match, Virat Kohli revealed that he had a special chat with former South Africa Captain & his RCB teammate AB de Villiers & his suggestion did wonders for Virat Kohli. Virat also mentioned that his wife Anushka & the team management also helped him to stay in right state of mind when things were not going according to the plan.
“I had to shift the focus back to the basics of the game and I always take pride in doing the job for the team. Just kept my eyes on the ball and my wife is here and she keeps telling me a lot of things of what I need to do. We have a great management that keeps us in the right space,” Virat Kohli said at the post match presentation.
“And also I had a special chat with ABD (AB de Villiers) before the start of the game and he just told me to watch the ball. That’s exactly what I did,” Kohli added.
Virat Kohli came to bat in a tricky situation as India had just lost the wicket of KL Rahul for 0. The Indian team Captain & debutant Ishan Kishan then together stitched a 94 runs partnership for the second wicket that laid the basis for India’s brilliant victory. Ishan Kishan scored 56 runs off 32 balls in an innings which comprised of five fours & four sixes. But soon registering maiden half-century, Ishan Kishan fell prey to Adil Rashid’s bowling but King Kohli still kept going & reached his half century by hitting a straight six. The India Captain had finished the match with a six & in the process he also became the first cricketer to score 3000 runs in Men’s T20Is.
