The reports of positive COVID-19 cases coming from the CSK team are doing round on the Internet. However, the franchise has said that they are waiting for the test reports which will come around 4 pm & only then they can confirm if anyone has tested positive for COVID-19.
Speaking to ANI, a senior CSK Official said that there is no report with us, so I can only tell you if someone has tested positive for COVID-19 after the test reports come in around 4 pm. Till then I cannot tell you if someone has tested positive or not. We are following all the protocols are per the BCCI SOP”, the Official has explained.
CSK played their last match on Saturday against Mumbai Indians at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. They are scheduled to play against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday. CSK is currently enjoying the second spot on the points table by winning seven matches.
Earlier today, the Match 30 of the IPL 2021 between KKR & RCB which was scheduled to be played today in the evening was rescheduled for a later date after two players of the KKR squad has tested positive for COVID-19.
“Varun Chakravarthy & Sandeep Warrier were tested positive for COVID-19 in the third round of testing held in the last four days. All other players have tested negative for COVID-19”, the IPL confirmed in an Official Statement.
Both the players have isolated themselves from the rest of the players. The BCCI Medical Team is in continuous touch with the duo & is monitoring their health. Meanwhile, the KKR has now moved towards a daily testing routine to identify any other possible cases & treat them at the earliest.
