Amid Coronavirus Pandemic when everyone is doing their bit, Rohit Sharma has donated 80 lakhs to various relief funds to fight against the novel COVID-19. He said, “We want our country back on feet and to bring it back is our responsibility”.
Joining his teammates Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar, Rohit Sharma has donated whopping amount to various relief funds & did his bit towards the country. The Star batsman of the Indian team squad Rohit Sharma has donated 80 lakhs to fight against the novel Coronavirus Pandemic. He said that the onus is on the citizens of the country to help our country to get back on its feet as soon as possible. The Vice-captain of the Indian team has donated 45 lakhs to Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and 25 lakh to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (Maharashtra) respectively. He has given Rs 5 lakh to “Zomato feeding India”, which is helping families affected by the ongoing nationwide lockdown and another Rs 5 lakhs to help the welfare of stray dogs during this COVID-19.
He tweeted, “We need our country to come back on feet and this responsibility is on us. I have done my bit to help my country by donating 45 lakhs to #PMCaresFunds, 25 lakhs to #CMReliefFund Maharashtra, 5 lakhs to @FeedindIndia and 5 lakhs to #WelfareOfStrayDogs. Let’s support our leaders @narendramodi @CMOMaharashtra”, tweeted the right-handed batsman on Tuesday morning.
Along with Sachin Tendulkar & Indian team captain Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina and Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma joined the list of a top cricketer who has donated to the Coronavirus Relief funds and did their bit towards the fight against the Coronavirus Pandemic.
According to the reports, Maharashtra is one of the worst affected states in the Coronavirus Pandemic with the COVID-19 cases in the state rising to 225 till Tuesday morning. While in India the death toll due to the COVID-19 has increased to 32 while the cases raised to 1251 till Monday night.
