West Indies Player Andre Russell thanks PM Narendra Modi for sending “Made in India” coronavirus vaccines to Jamaica.

“I just want to say a big thank you to PM Modi & India’s high Commission for sending vaccines to Jamaica. I will love to see World going back to normal. Jamaica people appreciates India’s efforts & now India & Jamaica are brothers”, Andre Russell is quoted as saying in a video posted on Wednesday by the Official Twitter handle of India in Jamaica.
Jamaica Prime minister Andrew Holness also thanked India Government. Andrew said, “I am pleased to announce that yesterday afternoon, we have received the shipment of 50,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine donated by the Government of India. We thank Government & people of India for their much-needed support”.
Last week, former West Indies Cricketers Viv Richards, Richie Richardson, Jimmy Adams and Ramnaresh Sarwan had also thanked PM Modi for helping the Caribbean Countries by providing them COVID-19 vaccines under the ‘Vaccine Maitri’ initiative. In March, Antigua and Barbuda received 1, 75,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines out of which 40,000 doses of vaccines were donated to the country by India.
“I would like to thank India for the vaccine contributed to our country by India. We thank you on behalf of the Antiguan and Barbudan people. We look forward to continue cordial relationship with India. Thank you to PM Narendra Modi & High Commission of India. We also like to thank all the citizens of India for such a king & much needed gesture”, Richards is quoted as saying in a video posted on Twitter by the High Commission of India in Guyana.
