The Current Indian Captain was having at talk with batsman Mayank Agarwal in the latest episode of his chat show ‘Open Nets with Mayank’ when Kohli was asked why “lap of honor” was given to Sachin.

Kohli replied by saying, “Firstly my feeling was of gratitude that we had won the World Cup. I felt absolute joy. But invariably everyone’s feeling was centered around “Paaji” (Sachin Tendulkar) because we knew this was his last chance to win the World Cup and whatever he had done for the country for so many years, ‘n’ number of games he has contributed to India’s winning cause and given us all motivation and inspiration,”

The Indian Skipper further said, “That it was a gift from all of those people for Tendulkar because he kept only giving, giving, giving for team India & I thought what better way at his home ground to realize his dream and then he gets a lap of honor. We all felt this is the ideal thing to do for him, and we went ahead and did it”.

Indian Skipper Kohli & Mayank will come back to action in RCB & Kings XI Punjab franchise in the 13th edition of IPL being played in the UAE starting from September 19.
