Sprinting Legend Yohan Blake on Wednesday appreciated team India Captain Virat Kohli for his Captaincy after the first test match between India & England. Though India lost the test by 227 runs the Jamaican sprint star praised Kohli for taking the responsibility & not giving excuses for his side’s defeat.

He further praised some of India’s young talents like Shubman Gill & Rishabh Pant in a video which he shared on twitter & also congratulated England’s squad for sealing an impressive victory at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

“What I really love about Team India is that Virat Kohli, he doesn’t find any excuses. That’s what I really love about Virat Kohli and his captaincy. He doesn’t find any excuses,” Blake says in the video.

“He takes the blame for everything, he says ‘ok, the bowling was not as consistent, the batting wasn’t as consistent.'”

“He didn’t find any excuses for why they lose. He says ok, we have to go back to the drawing board and come back, and that’s what I love about Virat Kohli and his captaincy,” the star sprinter said.

“Also, what else stood out for me – Shubman Gill. He’s a wonderful batsman. Of course, Rishabh Pant- excellent. Not every time he’s going to put on a show, but he’s excellent for the game of Test cricket,” Blake said.

Blake also praised England Captain Joe Root who marked his 100th Test match by registering a spectacular double century. Blake heaps praise on England’s fast bowler James Anderson whose brilliant bowling technique of reverse swing in the 4th innings helped him to register some quick wickets & thereby led England to a spectacular win in the first test against India.

“Wonderful Test, England and India and I must say, Joe Root – well played. To the England team – well played. Jimmy Anderson – incredible as usual. They say you get better with age, age is just a number and Jimmy keeps on showing that,” Blake says in the video.

England have achieved a 1-0 lead in the four match test series with 227 runs win in Chennai. With this brilliant victory England have also overtaken India in the WTC & are marching ahead in the race for a place in the Final at Lord’s. The second Test will also be played at the same venue, beginning on Saturday.
