Zahid Mahmood is named as a replacement for Shadab Khan in the T20I series against Zimbabwe. The three-match T20I series will be played from April 21 to 25 in Harare. Fakhar Zaman will remain with the team for the upcoming T20Is in South Africa & Zimbabwe. Pakistan is currently facing South Africa in the ODI series. The two teams will then compete with each other in the T20I series starting from Saturday.
Zahid was named for the two-match Test squad against Zimbabwe while Fakhar Zaman was named for the ODI series. “Both the changes were approved by the National Selection Committee on the request of the team management”, PCB said in an Official Statement.
Shadab Khan was ruled out of the South Africa & Zimbabwe series as he suffered an injury in his left toe. He suffered the injury while batting during the second ODI against South Africa on Sunday. The injury has sidelined him for up to four weeks.
According to an Official Statement from PCB, Xrays were conducted on Shadab’s injury. The reports revealed that he has suffered from “an intra-articular communicated fracture” though there is neither any displacement nor angulation. The injury will be treated as per the guidelines of the Medical Team & Shadab will undergo a four-week rehabilitation to recover fully, said PCB.
