After defeating India by five wickets in their previous fixture, Pakistan will be rearing with confidence. PAK vs AFG Asia Cup 2022: Pakistan Preview

Pakistan squad have displayed a terrific performance with both bat & ball against India. Mohammad Rizwan who scored 71 off 51 balls against India would continue to be the top pick in today’s fixture against Afghanistan. The leading run-scorer of Asia Cup 2022 & NO 1 T20I batter, Rizwan had anchored Pakistan’s innings against a fiery Indian Bowling spell & guided them to an easy win without breaking a sweat.

The match also saw the rise of Mohammad Nawaz who scored 42 runs off 20 balls helping Pakistan to chase the target with two balls to spare. Asif Ali and Khushdil Shah too hit the straps & guided Pakistan to a massive win once Rizwan & Nawaz went back to the pavilion. All these batters would aim to help their side secure a place in the Final by defeating Afghanistan in today’s clash. Only skipper Azam’s form is a cause of concern. He has not crossed 30 in three innings, and he would like to score big now.

In the bowling, Naseem Shah and Shadab Khan have bowled well. They would be aiming to continue bowling at good lengths to continue their winning spree against Afghanistan in today’s clash.

PAK vs AFG Asia Cup 2022: Afghanistan Preview

On the other hand, Afghanistan is heading into this clash on the back of a poor defeat at the hands of Sri Lanka in their first fixture of the Super 4 stage. Afghanistan’s batting line-up couldn’t hit the straps & except Rahmanullah Gurbaz (84 off 45) no one could deliver in the crucial fixture against Sri Lanka. Skipper Mohammad Nabi’s form too is a concern for the Afghan clan as he wasn’t able to score much when the team needed him the most. Mohammad Nabi & Co would aim to up their game with the bat & end up putting a mammoth score on board against Pakistan.

Their bowling department has to improve their game as they were able to return with 1-2 wickets but failed to restrict Sri Lanka from scoring a decent total. The likes of Rashid Khan & Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman will have to find ways to scalp crucial wickets, conceding fewer runs. If Afghanistan aims to stop Pakistan from qualifying for the Asia Cup 2022, they need to deliver an all-round performance in today’s clash.
