PAK vs ENG 2nd Test Prediction: Pakistan & England are all set to cross swords once again in the second Test match of the series beginning on Friday, December 9. Earlier during the Rawalpindi Test, England pulled off a heist & outclassed Pakistan by 74 runs to clinch the series. Pakistan tried to drag the match towards a draw but failed in their efforts as the batters succumbed to England’s fiery pace attack in the second innings. However, marching into the Multan Test Pakistan will put their every effort to clinch the Test & level the series. They need to win this Test in order to keep their WTC Qualification hopes alive & save the crucial Test from getting into the hands of England.
Pakistan might make a couple of changes considering the nature of Multan Pitch & the performances of players in the Rawalpindi Test. Leg-spinner Zahir Mehmood who returned with six scalps by conceding 319 runs might be replaced by left-arm spinner Nauman Ali. Management might consider replacing Mohammad Ali who had a poor outing in the first Test with experienced pacer Hasan Ali. Meanwhile experience pacer Naseem Shah might not take the field during the second Test due to a niggle injury. The absence of Naseem Shah will further aggravate problems for Pakistan which was already reeling due to the absence of Shaheen Afridi.
In the batting order, Babar Azam, Abdullah Shafique, Imam-Ul-Haq & Azahar Ali will continue to be their biggest bets. The team would hope that previous match centurions, Azam, Shafique & Haq recreate the performance of the first Test & outclass the Bazball team in Multan Test to level the series.
Though there is no need for England to make changes in their match-winning combination. However, considering the pitch conditions England might make a few changes to their Playing XI. They will rely on the services of Root, Crawley, Duckett, Stokes, Karry Brook & Ollie Pope to amass vital runs & post another Mammoth target on board. Four of their top batters registered a century each to power England to a massive 657 runs total in the first innings. They would expect a similar kind of performance in the Multan Test.
While in the bowling department, Fast bowlers Ollie Robinson, James Anderson, Ben Stokes & Jack Leach would continue to wreak havoc with the ball & clinch Multan Test to clinch a historic series win & spoilsport hosts chances to qualify for the WTC Final.
One battling for prestige while the other battling for saving the series & WTC finals contenders which team will succeed in their motive is what will be known on the grounds of Multan.
