PAK vs ENG: The match officials for the historic test series between Pakistan and England have been finally announced. Veteran ICC Match Official Andy Pycroft will lead the seven-member panel that shall be on the field to officiate the three-match test series that is scheduled to kickstart on December 1.
The eye-catching series between Pakistan and England will also constitute an integral part of the ICC World Test Championship. Notably, Pakistan stands a golden chance to take a leap in the standings and they will be focusing on thrashing England on their home turf.
According to the reports, the seven-member team will comprise three ICC Elite Panel umpires namely Aleem Dar, Marais Erasmus, and Joel Wilson. Other match umpires are Ahsan Raza, Rashid Rias, and Asif Yaqoob.
PAK vs ENG Test Series has the utmost Importance
The first Test match is scheduled to take place from 1st to 5th December at Rawalpindi where Joel Wilson and Ahsan Raza will serve as the standing umpires whereas Marais Erasmus and Asif Yaqoob will be the third and fourth umpires respectively. Aleem Dar and Marais Erasmus will be the on-field umpires for the second test in Multan from December 9 where Joel Wilson and Rashid Riaz will be the third and fourth umpires.
As we head into the final third test in Karachi from December 17 to 21, it will be the duo of Joel Wilson and Ahsan Raza once again standing as the stand-in umpires whereas Marais Erasmus and Asif Yaqoob will remain the TV umpires.
The series between Pakistan and England will be of crucial importance. The Test series has significant importance since England will mark their first visit to Pakistan after 17 years. The last time England played on Pakistani turf was back in 2005.
Pakistan has made some shocking amendments to their side with Yasir Shah, Hasan Ali and Fawad Alam being excluded. Former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed will be joining the team. On the other end, England has stuck to the same side and has already geared its preparations for the series.
