In a major breakthrough for heartbroken Indian fans, veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja underwent successful surgery on his right knee. The left-arm orthodox will soon start his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.
Ravindra Jadeja shared the news of his surgery through his Instagram handle. He said, “the surgery was successful,” and added that he expects to “start my rehab soon and try to get back to cricket soon as I can”.

Jadeja sustained a painful injury in India’s Asia Cup pool stage fixture against Hong Kong. Due to it, the Rajput boy was ruled out of the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 midway. He missed the key Super 4 fixture against Pakistan which India eventually lost.
Notably, Jadeja had been India’s most bankable asset in their group stage fixtures against Pakistan and Hong Kong. He was promoted up the order against Pakistan in the league stage fixture where he scored a vital knock of 35 runs. Whereas in front of Hong Kong Jadeja bowled economically giving away just 15 runs in his 4 overs and scaling a crucial wicket of Babar Hayat to take India through.
Jadeja has been replaced by his similar attribute counterpart Axar Patel. However, Axar didn’t get a chance to feature in the XI, and Deepak Hooda was given an opportunity in place of Jadeja.
Ravindra Jadeja Surgery: His presence is vital in T20 World Cup 2022
Ravindra Jadeja has been prone to injuries in view of his stunning athleticism on the field. His right knee had been prone to major injuries as he had also missed the ODI series against West Indies for the same in July this year.
While the possibility of Jadeja attaining full fitness & making a comeback in the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia is less, the Indian management is reluctant to accept the fact and is trying to enhance a speedy rehabilitation for the left-arm spinner.
Indian Head Coach Rahul Dravid is in deliberate discussions and consultation with the medical team and has instructed them to monitor Jadeja’s recovery and ensure expedited rehabilitation.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is scheduled to start the next month. With just six to seven weeks in hand, Jadeja’s availability will remain a crucial concern for BCCI’s selection committee.
