Virat Kohli & Co poses for Pictures at Ageas Bowl ahead of the ICC WTC Final

Indian team captain, Virat Kohli recently shared a picture on his social media handle of the complete 15 player squad for the ICC WTC Final.

Just two days, after the BCCI announced the squad for the ICC WTC final, Virat Kohli shared a picture with team India along with head coach Ravi Shastri from the Ageas Bowl Ground in Southampton. The senior players of the squad along with Coach Shastri were seated in the front while the young players were standing behind them. Kohli shared one more picture in which the entire Coaching staff was present.

The BCCI took to social media to share the team picture with the entire coaching staff. And captioned the post as, how’s that for a Team Picture ahead of the #WTC21 Final! Drop a message in the comments below & wish #TeamIndia!

India will lock horns with New Zealand in the final of the World Test Championship which will start on Friday in Southampton. Apart from regular training, India also played an intra-squad match to prepare for the marquee final. New Zealand came to Southampton riding on the back of a two-match test series against England which they won.

India has announced a 15 player squad on Tuesday for the WTC final. Opener Mayank Agarwal & KL Rahul was missing from the squad. And Rohit Sharma & Shubman Gill will open the batting for India in the WTC final. The team management had plenty of options to choose from within the 15 player squad when the bowling combination is considered.

Meanwhile, On Monday, the ICC Council has disclosed the prize money & award for the winners of the WTC final. The winners of the much-awaited WTC final will take home a whopping amount of USD 1.6 million along with the ICC Test Championship mace.

The losing team will get an amount of USD 800,000 for securing second place in the mega nine-team contest which has been played over a two-year cycle. The prize money for the team finishing third in the ICC World Test Championship standings is USD 4,50,000. The team that has finished fourth & fifth on the standings will be awarded USD 3,50,000 & 200,000 respectively, while the remaining four teams will get USD 1,00,000 each.
