WTC Final: Sehwag’s Mirzapur meme on India’s loss to New Zealand is taking the Internet by Storm

Former India Cricketer Virender Sehwag has recently shared a humorous meme on social media from the famous web series ‘Mirzapur’ to express his disappointment on India’s loss to New Zealand in the WTC final at Ageas Bowl on June 23.

In the meme, the lead actor of Mirzapur, Pankaj Tripathy who plays the character Akhandanand Tripathi aka Kaleen Bhaiya is seen scolding Anjum Sharma, who portrays ‘Sharad Shukla’, who is one of the antagonists in the web series.

By sharing the meme, Sehwag captioned it as, “Aapse better umeed kiye the hum (I had better expectations from you)”. The meme that Virender Sehwag shared on social media received around 52,000 likes within a span of minutes.

Virender Sehwag also congratulated the New Zealand team who ended its two-decade-long ICC Trophy debacle by winning the WTC Final in style. Tweeting a picture of Kane Williamson along with Ross Taylor, Sehwag wrote, “Missed being 50-over champions 2 years ago in the same country, but winning the inaugural World Test Championship in style, many congratulations @BLACKCAPS, absolutely worthy champions. Happy for Kane Williamson and @RossLTaylor #INDvNZ.”

Two years back in England, the Black Caps suffered a big defeat by England in the 2019 World Cup final at Lord’s & lost the ICC World Cup trophy with few runs. But two years later, by showing extraordinary performances in the WTC Final against India, New Zealand has compensated for its 2019 World Cup loss & proudly become the World Test Champions on the grounds of the Ageas Bowl.

After the conclusion of the WTC final, the Indian team has traveled to London along with their families. They will spend around three weeks in London before assembling in London for the five-match test series against England.
