Front-Foot will be termed as ‘No Balls’ in the Upcoming England-Pakistan Test Series!

The ICC on Wednesday confirmed that in the upcoming three match Test Series between England & Pakistan the third umpire will be calling the front-balls as no-balls.

The ICC said that they will try this technology in the upcoming England vs. Pakistan test series before any final decision is taken about its future use in the longest format of Cricket.

ICC confirmed the use of this new technology by tweeting on its Official handle. ICC tweeted, “Front foot no-ball technology to be used in ICC World Test Championship series featuring England and Pakistan, with the support of both teams. Performance of the technology in these Tests will be reviewed before any decisions taken on its future use in Test cricket,”

England & Pakistan will face each other in the upcoming three match Test series. The first Test match will kick start today at Manchester. The series will be an integral part of the World Test Championship. In July it was confirmed that TV umpires will be monitoring the front foot balls as No Ball Calls in the inaugural of ICC World Super League as well.

The ODI Super League will start with the three match ODI series between Ireland & England. The ICC had previously used this technology of calling the front foot as no balls in the India vs West Indies in last year.

Last year in the series between India & West Indies this technology was used on a trial basis but ICC was fully satisfied with the results & so ICC included the third-umpires called front-foot no-balls in this year’s Women’s T20 World Cup as well.
