SIX vs THU Highlights: Sydney Sixers displayed a spell-bounding performance to beat Sydney Thunders by seven wickets & proudly occupy the top spot on the Points table. Bowling, first they were successful in restricting Thudners innings to a meager 133 runs.

Wickets kept falling at regular intervals but then a 15-all 26-run cameo from Ben Cutting helped Thunders to post a mammoth total on board. Cutting acted as a savior for the Sixers as his quick cameo helped Thunders to post a decent total on board.

But the target was not sufficient for stopping Sixers from winning as they displayed a fierce batting show to chase the target in 16.2 overs. Sydney Thunders too got off to a disastrous start as they lost openers Josh Phillipe (6 off 6) and James Vince (5 off 5) on single-digit scores. Patterson tried to resurrect their innings but he too couldn’t get going for long & was dismissed for 2 runs off 8 balls, leaving Sixers struggling at 25-3 in four overs.
Then Henriques joined hands with Jordon Silk & the duo carried ahead Sydney Sixers innings. It was Henriques & Silk’s heroics with the bat that helped them to chase the target in just 17 overs. Henriques played a beautiful knock of 53 runs off 38 balls while Silk too played outstanding knocks of 59 off 42 balls embellished with 7 fours. For the unversed, it was Silk’s maiden 50 while Henriques’s highest score in BBL 2022-23.
With this win, Sydney Sixers has surpassed Scorchers to grab the top spot in the Points table while Perth still has two more matches in hand to reclaim his position. Thunders who have registered their first loss in five games played moved down to the fourth spot at the Points table below Melbourne Renegades due to poor NRR.
