The Abu Dhabi T10 League is enjoying tremendous popularity across the globe. The shortest format of cricket is witnessing massive responses from fans who are loving to watch their favorite stars play some explosive cricket.
With such a terrific response, the organizers of the T10 League have kicked off the preparations to expand the league to five different geographic locations across the world. IPL Analyst and veteran administrator Rajeev Khanna has joined the T Ten Sports Management team and will oversee the expansion process. Khanna had previously worked with the Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab franchises.
T10 League set to launch in five different Geographical Locations
Notably, the T10 League has got its approval from a couple of full members at the International Cricket Council. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and Zimbabwe Cricket have given a nod to the organizers of the T10 League to host the championship in their territory. While the T-10 League is set to be hosted on the island nation of Sri Lanka in June, final talks are proceeding with Zimbabwe to schedule the championship in 2023.
Apart from Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe, the focus of the T-10 League has also been in Europe and North America The organizers have planned and are in deliberations with Scotland and Netherlands to host the league in Europe whereas a venue is yet to be decided to pitch the league in North America.
While ICC has not approved nor recognized T10 League as an official format, the Anti-Corruption Bureau has been sent to Abu Dhabi for an extensive review of the financials.
T10 League has seen energizing international participation with veteran cricketers like David Miller, Nicolas Pooran, Kieron Pollard, Tim David, etc. engaging their participation. A total of 1600 International cricketers had shown their interest in the player draft but only 250 were shortlisted for the ongoing edition of the Abu Dhabi T-10 League.
However, it is likely that the T-10 League won’t imprint its footsteps in India. With the spectacular multi-billion IPL being thoroughly loved by the fans, it is reasonably acceptable that BCCI won’t let the organizers host the league in India.
