Virat Kohli on Thursday turned the heads around by registering his 71st International century in their Super 4 fixture against Afghanistan at the Asia Cup 2022. Virat Kohli became the first Indian player to register the highest T20I Score

Virat Kohli became the first Indian player to register the highest individual score in the T20I format. Virat Kohli achieved this glorious milestone after completing his 71st International ton during India’s fixture against Afghanistan in Dubai. He smashed 122 runs in 61 balls with 12 fours & six sixes against Afghanistan today at the grounds of Dubai.

With this massive score, Virat has overtaken the highest T20I score of 118 runs registered by Rohit Sharma against Sri Lanka in 2017. Followed by 117 by Suryakumar Yadav against England in 2022, Rohit Sharma’s 111 not out against West Indies in 2018, and an unbeaten 110 by KL Rahul against West Indies in 2016.

Star Indian batter, Virat Kohli added one more accolade to his name by becoming the second cricketer to complete 3,500 runs in the T20I format. Virat Kohli accomplished this desirable feat in today’s fixture against Afghanistan where he registered his 71st International Century & ended his stint with 122 runs off 61 balls.

Virat now has 3,584 runs in his kitty at an average of 51.94 with his best score being an unbeaten 122*. Virat Kohli has one ton & 32 half centuries registered on his name in the T20I format. Notably, Rohit Sharma is the first player to smash 3,500 runs in the T20I format. The hitman has ‘3,620 runs’ from 136 matches at an average of 32.32. On Thursday, during the India vs Afghanistan clash of Asia Cup 2022, Virat also completed 100 sixes in the T20I format. He became the only second Indian Cricketer & the tenth overall player to smash 100 maximums in the T20I format. Now Virat Kohli bags 104 sixes which is the ninth-highest in the T20I format.
