ENG W vs NZ W 2021: ECB announced a 15 member team for the upcoming three-match T20I series against White ferns which will kick start on 1st September at Chelmsford.
Maia Bouchier & Charlie Dean have received their maiden call-up in the England Women’s Squad for the upcoming T20I series. Both the players were seen into action during the recently ended inaugural season of the hundred tournament. During the tournament, he represented the Southern Brave team that reached the final of the 100 ball tournament. She scored 64 balls 92 runs in the tournament at a brilliant average of 30.66 & a strike rate of 143.75.
All-rounder Dean has represented the London Spirit squad in the hundred tournament. She is just 20 years old & is the leading wicket-taker for the Southern Vibe’s squad in this year’s Heyhoe Flint Trophy by scalping 10 wickets in just four matches.
She gave an outstanding performance in the recently concluded practice match against New Zealand Women’s team. During the match, Dean conceded just 29 runs in her 10 overs spell 37 by scalping one wicket & contributing 22 runs with the bat. While dean scalped 10 wickets, Bouchier scored 91 runs to help her side Southern Vipers win the first three matches of this year’s Charlotte Edwards Cup.
Senior Players of the England squad Kate Cross and Lauren Winfield-Hill will miss out on the selection for the T20I series. England women’s team head coach Lisa Headingley said, “We’re looking at more players than ever before, which is so exciting.“
“In the past selection meetings have by necessity been quite focused on the Centrally Contracted group, but the fact that so many other players are sticking their hand up and pushing for selection is testament to the progress the domestic structure is allowing the women’s game to make.
“We’re seeing improvements across the board, and there were a number of young English players who also shone in The Hundred, which bodes really well for the future.
“This is another big series for us, and I want the team to continue from where they left off in the series win over India.”
The three-match vitality series against New Zeland will conclude on September 9 followed by a five-match Royal London ODI series starting September 16, for which England will name their squad shortly
