ICC Women’s ODI Rankings: India Women Captain Mithali Raj returns back in the top five spot in the latest ICC Women’s ODI Batting Rankings after scoring 72 runs for India in the first ODI against England women in Bristol.
Mithali Raj has steadied India’s innings after the early fall of two wickets but still, India could score 201 runs after losing eight wickets. England with his power-hitting capability could score the target in just 34.5 overs with the loss of two wickets. Mithali Raj advanced up by three spots to reach the fifth position after Bristol’s 72 runs knock. Mithali has made a comeback to the top five list for the first time since October 2019.
England’s opener batter Tammy Beaumont has retained her top position after producing ‘Player of the Match’ efforts, gaining 26 spots to reach 791th position after scoring an unbeaten 87 runs. Natalie Sciver’s 74 runs knock helped her to advance up from the ninth spot to the eighth position in the latest Women’s ODI Rankings which was released on Tuesday.
In the bowlers’ rankings list, the fast bowler Anya Shrubsole has progressed up by three places to eighth position after scalping two wickets in the match. While the left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone, who is top-ranked in the T20Is has advanced up by four slots to reach 10th position by scalping three wickets for 40 runs which included crucial knocks of Mithali and Harmanpreet Kaur.
India’s senior pacer Jhulan Goswami who scalped one wicket in the first ODI against England retained her 5th position in the bowler’s rankings. While leg spinner Poonam Yadav advanced up by two spots to occupy the 9th position in the bowling rankings list.
